Founder/Environmental Auditor

Sally is an Environmental Auditor (Contaminated Land) appointed by EPA Victoria in 2011.  Sally has more than 20 years’ experience in the environmental consulting and statutory auditing industry, commencing her first professional role in Melbourne in 1998 and founding Vic Audits in 2018.

 

Sally's key skills include a focus on practical and effective solutions for her clients, high-level technical support on challenging and complex projects and a passion for engagement within the contaminated land industry. She has a genuine care and practical approach to every project and brings together her extensive knowledge of contaminated land issues with an advanced understanding of regulatory practice to ensure that projects are delivered in the most pragmatic and efficient approach achievable.

 

Sally has been a CEnvP Certified Environmental Practitioner and Site Contamination Specialist since 2015 and continues to upskill through ongoing training in our ever-changing environment.  She is a member of several industry groups, involved in  contaminated land, groundwater, auditing and professional environmental women’s networks. Taking inspiration from the multifaceted talent and contribution made by women in the contaminated land industry, Sally was a founding member of the Contaminated Land Women’s Network to mentor, support and collaborate with other inspired women on their career journeys.

 

In her free time, Sally enjoys planning her caravanning adventures around Australia, spending time with her husband, two teenagers & labrador and honing her new cricket-playing abilities, joining the local women’s team with her daughter in 2019.

Kiri is a Principal Environmental Consultant with over 10 years' experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation in Victoria and New South Wales. Kiri holds a Bachelor of  Science degree in Environmental Science and Health which has assisted greatly in her role as Auditor Representative, where the assessment of environmental risks and human health risks posed by contaminated land are the primary focus.

 

Kiri's main role as Auditor Representative is assisting Vic Audits' Environmental Auditor (Sally Bonham) in undertaking statutory Environmental Audits, as well as peer review and Auditor verification and compliance works. Kiri's responsibilities involve liaison with clients, contractors and assessors, completing site inspections, undertaking technical reviews, project management and preparation of statutory Environmental Audit Reports and Auditor Verification/Compliance Reports.

 

Kiri is highly organised and enjoys assisting in the project management of Environmental Audits as well as the in-depth technical reporting. Her main objective when working with clients on an Environmental Audit is to help them navigate through the (sometimes confusing) audit process in a friendly, honest and efficient way to achieve the best outcomes for all parties.

 

Kiri was born in Dublin and spent most of her early life moving between Australia and Ireland, settling in Melbourne in 2011. Outside of work you will find Kiri camping, hiking, travelling overseas or just catching up with friends and watching the footy.

 

Kiri's goal at Vic Audits is to become an Environmental Auditor (Contaminated Land).

CHRISTIE BATISTE
Auditor Representative

Christie is a Principal Environmental Consultant with over 15 years' consulting experience in the contaminated land industry. Christie has a broad experience in managing environmental due diligence assessments, contaminated site investigations, site remediation and statutory environmental audit projects.

 

Christie's primary focus in audit support since 2010 has enabled her to develop a high-level of technical and project management ability as well as a fundamental appreciation of current regulatory and legislative practice primarily within Victoria.

 

Christie has worked closely with contaminated land Environmental Auditors across several consulting firms and she draws on this diverse experience in her day to day audit support work. With a background in earth science research, Christie also has a penchant for uncovering the intricacies of a project site's historic past.  Her passion for investigating the history of each site help to bring the whole project together

 

Christie is a member of numerous industry groups, which leads to collaboration and fostering of existing relationships and an ongoing focus on technical skills in the sphere of contaminated land.  

 

Outside of work Christie enjoys cycling, local beach visits with her young daughter and weekends unwinding on the Mornington Peninsula.

Auditor Representative

Maddie is a Senior Environmental Consultant who commenced her career as a health, safety and environment consultant in 2014.

Maddie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2012 and Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne in 2016.

During her career, Maddie has gained experience conducting small to large scale contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, including preliminary and detailed site investigations, environmental assessments under statutory environmental audit and due diligence property risk assessments. To complement her technical skills, Maddie has developed strong project management and organisational skills, allowing her to successfully manage all aspects of a project life cycle, with an emphasis on attention to detail.

 

Through working on an array of contaminated land projects, Maddie has developed technical skills and regulatory knowledge which supports her current role as an Auditor Representative at Vic Audits.

 

Maddie's role at Vic Audits involves providing support to Environmental Auditor Sally Bonham throughout a project, including undertaking technical reviews, site inspections, preparation of statutory Environmental Audit Reports and associated reporting/correspondence and project administration. Maddie is committed to delivering excellence on every project, working to offer the highest level of support and care for clients, contractors and assessment consultants.

 

Outside of work you will find Maddie at the athletics track, training and competing in sprint events or having coffee with friends on weekends.
